William A. Gutt, Jr., 80, of Torrington, CT, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Vanda (Poli) Gutt, who predeceased him during 2010.
Bill was born February 28, 1942, in Hartford, CT. He grew up in the town of Glastonbury and is the son of the late William and Catherine (Andrews) Gutt. He proudly served his country with the US Marine Corps. He had been a member of the Pearl River, NY Jaycees. He owned and operated a printing company, Graphic Securities, Inc., in Berkely Heights, NJ, which printed the first Maryland State "The Numbers Game" Lottery ticket and the first ever scratch-off game ticket for 7-11. In his early retirement, he was a yacht salesman and enjoyed sailing and travel.
He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Janssens and her husband Christopher Eustis and Allison Grella and her husband Terrence Grella, all of Harwinton; one sister Catherine Macca of Plainville, CT; three grandsons, Darren and Evan Janssens and Bob Henley; two nephews Paul and Bill Macca and a niece Sydney Macca and several nieces and nephews on his wife's side. He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Gutt.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, with the cortege leaving from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT to St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
