Virginia (D'Amato) Fritch

Virginia (D’Amato) Fritch, 92, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family.  She was the wife of the late Willard R. Fritch.

She was born January 25, 1929, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Rinaldi) D’Amato.  She was an insurance representative for the Litchfield County Agency, and later was employed by The Warner Theatre in sales at the box office.   She volunteered at the Sullivan Senior Center.  She was an avid reader, loved to travel, and loved spending time with her family, especially at family dinners.

She is survived by three sons, Michael Fritch and his wife Susan of Torrington, Richard Fritch and his wife Gretchen of Great Barrington, MA, Thomas Fritch and his wife Molly of Barkhamsted, CT; two daughters, Patricia Fritch and Eileen Fritch both of Torrington; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, James Fritch; two sisters, Katherine Roy, Eva LaRocco and two brothers, Chester D'Amato and Frank D'Amato.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT.  Since the church has a capacity of 100 people to attend the Mass in person, the Mass will also be live streamed on Facebook (stjohnpaulthegreatparish). Relatives and friends attending the Mass are asked to meet directly at St. Peter Church.  Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  All relatives and friends attending funeral services are reminded that CDC recommendations of social distancing and wearing protective facemasks must be followed.
