Shirley A. (Sabia) Middlebrook

Torrington, Connecticut

Shirley A. (Sabia) Middlebrook, 85, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at John Dempsey Medical Center.  She was the wife of the late Alfred E. Middlebrook, Sr.

Shirley was born August 20, 1936, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (LoRusso) Sabia.  She was employed by J. C. Penney as an office clerk until her retirement.  She loved spending time with her family, having enjoyed many goods times with them, sharing good food, playing cards and visiting the casinos.

She is survived by one son, Mark Middlebrook and his wife Valerie; two daughters, Karen Middlebrook, Susan Middlebrook, all of Torrington, CT; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Alfred Middlebrook, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT.  Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Peter Church and are requested to wear protective face masks while inside of the church for COVID protocol.  There are no calling hours. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
