Michael J. Votraw

Michael J. Votraw, 78, of Torrington, CT, passed away on May 28, 2022, after a short illness. He was the son of Clarence and Ann (Boyle) Votraw.

He was a 1962 graduate of Bristol Eastern High School after which he joined the Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked as a model maker for United Technologies for 35 years. After his retirement, he successfully completed the requirements for UCONN’s Pharmacy Technician Program. Michael was an avid golfer, enjoyed antiquing and attending auctions. He liked to travel and always looked forward to his annual trips to Maine. Michael was a kind, gentle, generous, and forgiving soul. He will be sorely missed by one and all.

He was predeceased by his wife Marilyn Mazini. He leaves behind his beloved companion of 23 years, Lucie Fradet, her son Jean Christophe, his niece Mary Ellen Decelles, and his niece Sandra Stotler as well as her husband James. He also leaves behind 10 great nephews and great nieces, 11 great, great nephews and great, great nieces, as well as several cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT, to St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT 06790. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning, June 3, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m.
