Kenneth “Z” Michael Zampaglione, 71, of Collinsville, Illinois passed away at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023, in the emergency room at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

He was born July 2, 1951, in Torrington, Connecticut, a son of the late Michael and Irene (Maruscsak) Zampaglione.

He married the love of his life, Brenda Joyce (Margulen) Zampaglione on December 1, 1978, and she survives.

Kenneth had a long career in photo finishing, had worked many years as a sales representative and had served as vice president of sales, working for K&S Photographics in St. Louis. He later worked for One Coast Wholesalers in giftware sales.

He enjoyed flea markets, was always looking to sell or buy and enjoyed his collection of stamps and coins. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, past member of the Elks Lodge in Granite City and longtime member of the Ad Club of St. Louis.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Cynthia Cant of Maryland Heights, Missouri; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Jeff Oliver of Denton, Texas; six grandchildren, Tyler and Courtney Jewell, Jonathan Oliver, Jackson Oliver, Rebekah Oliver, Hannah Oliver and Miriam Oliver; a great grandchild, Archer Jewell; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lisa Zampaglione of Torrington, Connecticut; other extended family and friends.

In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be held at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia Street in Collinsville at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, with Father John Beveridge as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials may be made to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
