Obituary
Jean (Meda) Yakubowski, 82, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Raymond Yakubowski who preceded her in death in 2014.
Jean was born February 6, 1940, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Vincensina “Sina” (Borla) Meda. She was a devoted homemaker to her family.
She is survived by two children, Holly Young and her husband Brad of Natick, MA; one son, Matthew Yakubowski and his wife Alana of Jupiter, FL; two sisters, Patricia Wilcox of Winsted, CT, Nancy Brusasca and her husband David of Torrington, CT; three grandchildren, Jessie Young, Mia Young, and Nadine Austin, as well as two nieces and two nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT 06790. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Peter Church. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
