Eugene "Gene" Moore

Eugene (Gene) Moore, 75, of Harwinton, CT, succumbed to a short battle with cancer at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, with his loving family by his side.

Gene was an avid runner, having participated in several marathons including New York City, Boston, and Philadelphia, as well as several local running events.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in 1969.  He retired in 2006 from a 37 year career as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Sanofi Aventis Corporation serving Litchfield County, Hartford, Waterbury, and the Berkshires.  His favorite pastimes were camping up and down the east coast and family vacations.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda (Novicky) Moore, son Christopher Moore and his wife Claudine Rose, of Burlington, CT, daughter Jennifer Smith and husband Patrick Smith of Venice, FL, granddaughter Marisa Morris and husband Jaron Morris of Fort Meade, Maryland, grandson Dustin Smith of Venice, FL, sister Patricia Ulrich and brother Richard Moore (Diana), of Lancaster, PA, sister Kathleen Hultslander of Barrie, Ontario, mother-in-law Jeanette Novicky of Harwinton, several nieces and nephews and their children, and special friends, Annesa Borla of Torrington and the late Richard Borla.

The family wishes to extend its sincere thanks to the Smilow Cancer Center in Torrington, and to the nurses, doctors, and technicians on the 5th floor at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for the compassionate and comforting care shown to Gene during his illness.
