Daniel J. LaChance, Sr.

Daniel J. LaChance, Sr., 62, of Winchester, CT, peacefully passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

He was born October 19, 1956, in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Alberic and Rita (Gorneault) LaChance.  He was employed by Fed Ex Freight as a Driver, and was a member of the Center Congregational Church in Torrington.

Dan had a wonderful personality and was well liked in the community.  His favorite things to do involved his family – coaching and attending his children’s sporting events as they grew up.  Vacations at the Cape with his family was a yearly event that he looked forward to. Hunting and fishing were his other passions as was his love for his dogs and cats…. He was a true animal lover.

Dan is survived by his love and former wife Donna LaChance; one son, Daniel J. LaChance, Jr. of Torrington; three daughters, Rebecca LaChance of Hermosa Beach, CA, Katie Dallaire and her husband Brad of Oahu, Hawaii, Jaime LaChance and her fiancé Christopher Greenwood of SanFrancisco, CA; one brother, Richard LaChance of Palm Coast, FL; two sisters, Joanne Calandrino of Danbury, CT, Patricia LaChance of Charleston, SC, as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT to Center Congregational Church, 155 Main St., Torrington, for services at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will be private.  Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
