Charles J. Videtto, Jr.

May 28, 1956 — July 21, 2016

Charles J. Videtto, Jr., 60, of Torrington, CT, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016.  He was born in Torrington May 28, 1956, and was a lifelong resident of Torrington.  He was the son of the late Charles Sr., and Shirley (Nyquist) Videtto.

Chuck attended Torrington High School.  He was a Lance Corporal in the USMC and served in Japan and in the United States during the Vietnam Era.  He enjoyed target shooting and flying his ultra-light plane.  He was also a past member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.  Chuck worked many years crossing the country as a long haul driver for Carlyle Transportation.  Later in life he worked as a driver for O&G Industries, Inc. and Yard Metals.

He is survived by two sisters, Gail Gianelli and her husband Lou of Southington, Rosan Gemetro and her husband John of Torrington; his brother Steven and his wife Heather of Simpsonville, SC; his daughter Krystal of Torrington, several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and his best friend Beth Videtto of Canton.

Chuck’s family would like to extend their deepest thanks for the care given to him from the 5th floor staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016, with the cortege leaving at 8:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m.   Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery with full military honors accorded.  Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
