Charles was born November 5, 1935, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Kalinowski) Piontkewicz. He also liked to feed the local birds and tend to his vegetable garden. Apart from his other interests, he was a loyal supporter of the UCONN Women’s and Men’s Basketball teams.
