Arlene (Zampini) Revaz

Arlene (Zampini) Revaz, 88, of Torrington, CT, passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019, at Litchfield Woods.  She was the beloved wife of Robert F. Revaz for 66 happy years.

Arlene was born January 31, 1931, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Domenic and Alfonsina (Parise) Zampini.  She graduated from Torrington High School in 1948 and went on to the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse.  She and Bob married in 1953 and raised four children together at their home on Westside Lane.  She cared for patients with kindness for 25 years at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital before retiring in 1993.

Arlene loved celebrating family events and accomplishments.  She loved her home, traveling, reading, Big Band music, and the UCONN women’s basketball team. Arlene always found time to do for others.  She was a devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, niece, cousin, neighbor, and cherished friend to many at Keystone Place in Torrington.

Arlene was a lifelong parishioner at St. Peter Church in Torrington.  She participated in the Nurses’ Health Study at Harvard Medical School and Brigham Women’s Hospital since 1976.  Arlene belonged to the Torrington R.N. Club, the Westside School Community Association, the St. Peter Home and School Association, the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary, and was a member of the Sullivan Senior Center.

In addition to her dear husband Bob, she is survived by four children, a son Cris Revaz (wife Cindy) of Reston, VA; three daughters, Cathy Dobos (husband Andrew) of Rockville, MD, Diane Quinn (husband Jim) of North Falmouth, MA; Renee Revaz (husband David) of Raleigh, NC: one sister, Deanna Zampini of Torrington, CT; eleven grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew, Caitlin, Shea, Kirsten, Sean, Cary, Nola, Sam, Nick, and Sophie; five great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Audrey, Devin, JB, and Maxin, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Zampini.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 107 East Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.   Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
