Annette K. (Killiany) Caputi

d. November 23, 2022

Torrington, Connecticut

On the evening of November 23rd Annette K. Caputi passed peacefully in her sleep.  She was the wife of the late Nicholas D. Caputi.  She was born in 1929, the daughter of the late Aurelia Killiany.

She was an avid card player, enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, playing Rummi-cube, and loved to travel.  The life-long Torrington resident worked at the Torrington Company for several decades and was a proud graduate of Post College.  After leaving the Torrington Company she worked in the voter registration office for the City of Torrington.  She also served as the chair of the city’s board of assessment appeal and sat on the board at Torrington’s Sullivan Senior Center.  Never one to sit idly she was a member of numerous organizations including the TorConn junior and senior women clubs, Knights of Columbus Columbia-ettes, St. Peter’s Holy Rosary Society, Torrington Historical Society, Torrington Republican Town Committee, and the Harwinton and Litchfield senior centers.  She logged over 10,000 hours as a volunteer at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and also volunteered at the Shrine of Lourdes in Litchfield and as an usher at the Warner Theater.

She is survived by her son Nick Caputi and Susanna Dooley now of Florida, her son Tom Caputi and his wife Joan of Connecticut, and her daughter Kathy May of Vermont.  Her surviving siblings are her brothers John Killiany, William and his wife Jean Killiany, and Irwin and his wife Nancy Killiany.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Katie Timm and her husband Josh, Nick Caputi and his wife Katie, Sarah Reynolds and her husband Kyle, Michael May and his fiancé Alexandra Kaye, and Emma May, four great grandchildren (Ella and Logan Timm, Cole and Bennett Caputi), and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral and burial will be private.  If anyone would like to make a donation in her memory the family recommends the Torrington Historical Society or the Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut.  The family would like to thank all the lovely and caring people at Keystone Place and the quality professional service and care from the Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Litchfield County.
