Alfred E. Middlebrook, Jr.

Alfred E. Middlebrook, Jr., 56, of Torrington, passed away on August 2, 2015, at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in Torrington on May 28, 1959 to Shirley (Sabia) Middlebrook and to the late Alfred E. Middlebrook Sr.

A truck driver for Unibrass, Al was later employed with the Maintenance Departments of the Torrington YMCA, and also Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.  Al was an accomplished drummer and vocalist playing in several bands, including his own, the Alvin James Band. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, and family gatherings. Having a great sense of humor, he was always able to tell a good joke. He was above all, a great son, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all.

In addition to his mother, Shirley, Al is survived by his daughters, Kristin Middlebrook of Torrington, Jessica Middlebrook of Barkhamsted; a brother Mark Middlebrook and his wife Val of Torrington; sisters Karen Circosta and her husband Roy of Spring Hill, FL and Susan Middlebrook of Winsted; a grandson Jarec Camacho Middlebrook;  an aunt, Mary Middlebrook of Holiday, FL; a companion Donna Vanicky, several nieces, nephews cousins, and his beloved dog, Lucky.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 13, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Peter Chruch, 107 East Main St., Torrington, CT.  There are no calling hours and burial will be private.  Condolences to the Middlebrook family may be sent to www.cookfuneralhomect.com.
