Vito W. Colucci, 78, of Torrington, CT, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014, at the Hebrew Health Care Center in West Hartford, CT.  He was the beloved husband of Martha (Hilzendegen) Colucci for 58 years.

Mr. Colucci was born February 1, 1936, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Leonard and Vita “Jennie” (Rinaldi) Colucci.  He served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.  Upon his honorable discharge during November of 1960, he was awarded a Marksman honor and the Good Conduct Medal.  He was employed by Oliver Wolcott School as a Custodian until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by one son, Vito Colucci of Pennsylvania; two daughters, Jenny Holmes and her husband Jerry of Mohawk, NY, and Patricia Ferraiolo of Naugatuck, CT; one sister, Shirley McCray and her husband Lee of Manchester, CT; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Domenic “Doc” Colucci, three sisters, Mary Colleoni, Lucy Denardo, Marie Colucci, and one daughter-in-law, Sherry Colucci.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, CT, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery with full military honors accorded.  Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  and also on Monday morning, June 16 th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the Colucci family by visiting www.cookfuneralhomect.com
