Vincent F. DiBerardino

Vincent F. DiBerardino, 86, of Winsted, CT, formerly of Torrington, CT for many years, passed away at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.   He was the beloved husband of Linda (Fratini Kittredge) DiBerardino.

Vincent was born October 30, 1940, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Anthony and Catherine (Graziani) DiBerardino.  Vincent attended St. Francis Parochial School and graduated from Torrington High School.  He was a graduate of Fairfield University, The University of Hartford with a Masters Degree, and St. Joseph's College for post Masters Education. 

He was employed by the Plymouth Connecticut Board of Education and the Torrington Connecticut Board of Education as a Math Teacher in both systems for thirty-six years.  When he retired from the Public School, he then taught for seven years as an Adjunct Instructor at Northwestern Connecticut Community College.  

An avid supporter of Torrington High School Programs both Academic and Athletic, he attended many events in each program throughout the years both as a supporter of and worker at.  He was Class Advisor to the THS Class of 1974 and 1978.  "Mr. D" as he was known when he taught, was a "Favorite Teacher" of many of his students over the years, and was "well-liked" and respected.

Vincent was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Peter Holy Name Society, National Council Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), Association Teachers of Mathematics in Connecticut (ATOMIC) and Association Retired Teachers Connecticut (ARTC).  He was a communicant of St. Peter Church in Torrington as of St. Joseph Church in Winsted. 

In addition to his wife Linda and his stepchildren: Mark Kittredge (Alison), James Kittredge (Lottie Beth Carlson), Laura Copertino (Todd Novolo), Andrea Mazzarelli; his step grandchildren, Anthony Copertino (Kailey), Mikayla Mazzarelli, Michael Mazzarelli, Ashley Kittredge, Matthew Kittredge, Stephen Kittredge, David Kittredge, Joshua Kittredge, Abbie Kittredge, Alec Kittredge, Madison Kittredge; and Vincent's step great grandchildren: Cambria Copertino, Kai Copertino, Rylee Gallicchio, and Lilliana Follert, his sister Gloria Fabiaschi and nephew Eric Fabiaschi (Joanne) as well as many cousins and numerous good friends.  Vincent's first wife, Carol (Russo) predeceased him as did his brother-in-law Thomas Fabiaschi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 31 Oak St., Winsted, CT.  Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery, Torrington.  There are no calling hours.  Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Joseph Church. 

Since Vincent was passionate about education, his family requests in his honor that donations be made for the re-opening of St. Anthony School in 2027 and be sent to St. Joseph Parish, 31 Oak St., Winsted, CT 06098.
