Born in Winsted, Connecticut, Tom was the son of Joseph Enio Fragale and Olga Rita Teddick. He grew up in Winsted attending St Anthony's Elementary and graduating from Gilbert School in 1960. Following high school, he enlisted in The United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1964. Tom then acquired an Associates Degree in Business and worked for J Fragale & Sons Paving until joining The Connecticut State Police in 1973. Other hobbies and interests included deer hunting, fishing, cooking, history, or just tinkering with projects in his shop.
Tom is survived by his daughter Laurie Cartwright, and grandkids Mackenzie Elumbaugh and Garrett Cartwright of San Augustine, TX. Other family members include his siblings: Joseph Fragale of Falls Village Connecticut, Linda Fragale of Henderson Nevada, and Anthony Fragale of Santa Rosa California. Sister-in-law Marilyn Fragale. Nephews include Michael, Danny, and Joel Fragale. And one very special niece Christine (Fragale) Delahunty.
He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity, and willingness to listen. He had the rare ability to share wisdom without judgement or preaching. He was loved by the community, lifelong friends, and most of all his family. Tom will be dearly missed.
