Santo (Santy) LoBrutto, 95, passed away on February 28, 2026, after a brief illness. Santy was a loving son, brother, uncle and cousin. Anyone who met him was touched by his kindness and generosity. He had a special gift for building relationships, and the list is long for those in need, who he helped.
He is survived by his sister Joanne LoBrutto and her husband Paul Schroeder, his sister Madeline Williams, and his brother Richard LoBrutto and his wife Rhonda. He was predeceased by three brothers including Michael LoBrutto, William LoBrutto, and Joseph LoBrutto, and one sister, Grace Meyer. He is also survived by nieces Anita Ressel, Rosemary LoBrutto, RoseAnn LoBrutto Rawdon, Tina LoBrutto and Diana Goldman. Surviving nephews include Rick LoBrutto, William LoBrutto, Jr., Ross LoBrutto and Joseph LoBrutto, Jr.
Born in Torrington, May 18, 1930, Santy was the second son of Rosario and Rose LoBrutto. He graduated from Bentley College in Boston, and proudly served his country (1951-1955) as a Staff Sergeant (Accounting) with the U.S. Air Force in Tokyo, Japan. Santy's career included various assignments in accounting, with his last position, serving many years as Comptroller for St. Francis Hospital, Hartford.
Santy's love for family and friends was his top priority, followed by a deep devotion to skiing. He was a member and shared owner of the Book and Binding Ski Lodge, at Mt. Snow, West Dover, VT.
Santy was a lifelong member and supporter of his church, St. Peter (St. John Paul the Great Parish) in Torrington. He also was a member of the original Holy Name Society and made annual retreats to the Holy Family Monastery in Farmington.
A funeral and burial will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to St. John Paul the Great Parish of Torrington.
