Roberta L. (Schnier) Axelrod, 84, of Torrington, CT, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016. She was the wife of the late Sidney (Saul) Axelrod.
Roberta was born September 28, 1931, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Baumkel) Schnier. She owned and operated Totville University, a daycare and nursery school for 30 years.
She is survived by three sons, Brad Axelrod of California, Robert Axelrod and his wife Clara Anne of Torrington, Richard Axelrod of California; three grandsons, Brian, Drake and Liam Axelrod, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016, with Rabbi Joseph Eisenbach officiating, with the cortege leaving at 11:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to the Sons of Jacob Cemetery, 1688-1720 Winsted Rd , Torrington, for burial. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
