Raymond Murelli, 81, of Torrington, CT, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Litchfield Woods.  He was the beloved husband of the late Jeanette (Russo) Murelli.

Mr. Murelli was born March 13, 1933, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Jerry and Mildred (Mazzochi) Murelli.  He was employed by the City of Torrington, Street Department as a Truck Driver until his retirement.  He served his country with the United States Army, Honorably Discharged during October of 1958.  Among the awards and decorations he received were the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

He is survived by his children who loved him dearly, a son, Raymond Murelli, Jr. and his fiancée Jennifer Delcioppo; a daughter, Karen Murelli and her boyfriend, Kevin Broderick, all of Torrington; two brothers  Peter Murelli of Torrington, Albert Murelli (Joan) of Winsted; a sister-in-law Antoinette “Toni” Brignolo of Torrington,  as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Louis, and John; four sisters, Mary Dablain, Irma Seitz, Clara Meyers, Rosa Waldron and one granddaughter, Tiffany Czerna.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Mary’s Church, 85 Pulaski St., Torrington for The Divine Liturgy of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m.   Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery with full military honors accorded.  Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning, June 28 th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
