Phyllis J. (Johnson) Case, 77, of Barkhamsted, died peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at home with family surrounding her following an extended illness. She was the wife of Curtis K. Case.
Born in Winsted, November 1, 1939, daughter of the late Gregory and Angelina (Youmatz) Johnson, she had lived in Barkhamsted for the last 50 years. Phyllis attended St. Anthony School and the Gilbert School as well as Hartford College for Women. She loved her family, good food and a spirited game of Uno.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, she is survived by her three sons Chris and his wife Gloria of Colebrook; Darryl and his wife Joy of Colebrook; and Kevin and his wife Linda of Harwinton; her brother David Johnson of Winsted as well as her five grandchildren Kyle, Sydney, Emma, Sarah and Katelynn along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Dolores Doudera and brother Gregory Johnson. There are no calling hours.
A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Joseph Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Joseph Church, 31 Oak Street, Winsted, CT 06098 or Foothills Visiting Nurse, 32 Union Street, Winsted, CT 06098.
