Pauline B. Sartori, 98, of Torrington, CT, passed away July 3, 2026, at home. Born in Torrington on January 2, 1928, she was the daughter of Cesare and Barbara Chinatti. She attended Torrington schools and managed Mario Sartori Plumbing and Heating until their retirement.
She was a devoted and faithful member of St. John Paul the Great Parish and a member of the Holy Rosary Society. She believed there was a beauty in the sacraments that brought grace to the living. Her generous heart was grounded in her deep and abiding faith in God. She acted with integrity and lived a simple, courageous and contemplative life. She showed us how it felt to be exquisitely seen and nothing in this world will match laughing with her and feeling her love. She saw every opportunity to make whoever she was with feel loved, respected and valued.
Pauline was an avid traveler in her younger years and loved learning about and experiencing new cultures. She also loved closer to home venues like Tanglewood on summer Sunday afternoons, The Warner Theatre and Lourde’s Shrine.
She was known for her love of opera, astronomy, reading, cooking, baking, a Jeopardy enthusiast and a glass of Prosecco for no particular reason.
Pauline was our anchor; our fixed point that dispelled doubt and radiated love.
Pauline was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband Mario and son Joseph, her sister Eva Kosco and her brother Julian Chinatti.
She is survived by her son Mark Sartori, her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Mary Lou Sartori and her daughter and son-in-law Marianne and Ted Marola, all of Torrington. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Lauren Olivia Marola Cardenas (Jonathan) of West Islip, NY, Adrienne Marola Xavios (Michael) of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Andrew Theodore Marola (Alexa) of Granby, CT, as well as her beloved great grandchildren, Olivia Pauline, Reo Rey and Nico Raul Cardenas and Brooks Michael Xavios. She was predeceased by many lifelong friends and extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 160 Main St., Torrington, CT. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at church. There are no calling hours.
