Mildred P. Phillips, 90, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on August 20, 2026. Born on September 5, 1935, in Avon, CT to Edward T. and Mildred (Enko) Prowe. Millie, as she preferred to be called, was a long-time resident of Winchester, CT.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John G. Phillips, Jr., and her daughter, Julie Ann Phillips. She is survived by her children John G. Phillips, IV and Jeanne (Phillips) Anthony; her six grandsons, Greg Hall, Geoffrey Hall (and spouse Hannah Lane), Benjamin Phillips, Nicholas Lombardy (and fiancé Jessica Saganowich), Daniel Lombardy, and Jacob Ransford; and her two great-grandchildren, Luca Hall and Eliza Hall.
She dedicated much of her life to inspiring as a Physical Education teacher, volunteer with Loaves and Fishes, employee at Pinewoods Racquet Club and Young Fashions before her retirement. Millie was known and loved for her warm smile and infectious laugh, which brightened the lives of everyone around her. An avid and talented needleworker, she found joy in cross stitch, needlepoint, and knitting, creating cherished pieces for her family over the years. A true sports enthusiast, Mildred was a lifelong and devoted fan of the Yankees, Commanders, Hartford Whalers, Rangers, and NASCAR, cheering on her teams with the same spirit and passion she brought to everything she loved.

The hospice team provided outstanding care to all of us in her final days. Internment of cremains will occur in the fall at Winchester Center Cemetery.
