Michael Rinaldi, 84, of Torrington, CT, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. He was born on February 10, 1941, in Pontelandolfo, Benevento, Italy, and later made his home in Torrington, Connecticut. Michael lived a rich and fulfilling life, characterized by his unwavering dedication to his family and his work.
For 37 years, he proudly employed his skills at O & G Industries as a union laborer before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. His commitment to his profession was matched only by his love for his family. He was a cherished member of the Pontelandolfo Club, where he fostered community ties and shared in the celebrations of life.
Michael had a passion for vegetable gardening, taking great joy in tending to his plants and sharing the fruits of his labor with loved ones. He delighted in the company of his cherished grandchildren, Nicolas, Nadia, Alexiana (Lucky), and Abby in addition to a great granddaughter, Madeline, all of whom he loved deeply. His spirit of nurturing extended to the craft of making homemade wine, which he enjoyed not only for its flavors but also for the memories created in the process.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Antoinette (Guerrera) Rinaldi, of Torrington, CT; his sons, Michael Rinaldi of Torrington, CT, and Richard Rinaldi and his daughter-in-law, Karen, also of Torrington, CT; his brother, Carl Rinaldi of Harwinton, CT; and his sisters, Anna Nuhn of Torrington, CT, and Ida Molitor of Torrington, CT. His legacy will continue to be felt through the loving bonds he fostered within his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nichola and Nicolena (Guerrera) Rinaldi, who undoubtedly instilled in him the values of hard work and family devotion that Michael carried throughout his life.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT to St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 99, East Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, 236 East Pearl Road, Torrington, CT 06790. Relatives and friends may call on November 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Cook Funeral Home.
