Marlene J. (Carrozzo) Frigo, of Torrington, CT, cherished and beloved wife, mother and grandmother has passed to her eternal reward on October 1, 2026.
Marlene was the daughter of the late Martin (Cris) Carrozzo and Rhoda Mae (Ransom) Carrozzo of Winsted, CT. She was the wife of David A. Frigo, and on September 3, 2026, they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Her entire life was devoted to her six children and her grandchildren. She assisted her husband in their family cheese business (Frigo House of Cheese and Stephano Food Products, Inc.)
She is survived by her five children, daughters Lisa M. Frigo of Bristol, CT, Maria F. Stafford and her husband Gary of Torrington, CT, Anita M. Frigo and her partner Arnold Raclyn of Bridgeport, CT, Dina M. Frigo of Torrington, CT, Christina Shanahan and her husband Shawn of Torrington, CT. She leaves three grandchildren, Jordan Frigo, Nicholas Frigo and Emily Shanahan, along with several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son Stefano A. Frigo, brothers Ralph, Martin and Robert Carrozzo, and one sister, Mildred Santoro.
Marlene was gifted with a love for knitting and in her later years enjoyed playing cards and golf. She was a member of the Greenwoods Ladies Golf League. She and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. Both she and David enjoyed winters in Florida when time permitted.
Her kind and caring heart will always be remembered and appreciated by those who were fortunate to receive it.
Her family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Keystone, Torrington, CT, the VNLC/Hospice of Winsted, CT, and Havens Hands of Glastonbury, CT.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Service. Burial will be private.
