Mark G. Magistrali

July 22, 1957 — November 9, 2025

Torrington, Connecticut

Mark G. Magistrali, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Born on July 22, 1957, in Torrington, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lillian (Locascio) Magistrali. Mark dedicated his life to family, community, and his work at Kimberly Clark Corp., and then Fuel Cell Energy, where he served in the Shipping and Receiving Department until his retirement.

Mark had a commendable military service as a cook in the U.S. Navy during peacetime, dutifully providing for the soldiers as well as the Captain on board of the ship the Julius A. Furer FFG-6.

As a proud member of the Torrington Elk's Lodge #372, he made lasting connections with fellow members. His love for the outdoors saw him enjoy countless hours fishing, boating, and camping. Music was another significant part of Mark's life; he was an enthusiastic member of a barber shop quartet while in high school, known as "The Funtastiks," alongside dear friends Ed, Larry, and John. Mark's musical talents extended to his involvement in the Immaculate Heart of Mary choir, where he accompanied the organist and choir with his guitar.

Mark's contributions to the Torrington High School Band as a chaperone for over a decade earned him affectionately the moniker "Mr. Mark" among students and staff alike. His enduring commitment to youth and education reflected in the joy he spread through music and mentorship.

Mark is survived by his cherished wife, Veronica (Tycienski) Magistrali, and their children: son Mark P. Magistrali and his wife Liz of Rockaway, NJ, and daughter Anita Magistrali-Gerrard and her husband James of Vernon, CT. He also leaves behind three treasured grandchildren, Marty Gerrard, Miles Gerrard, and Fifer Martin-Magistrali, who will carry forward his legacy. Mark is further survived by his brothers, Michael F. Magistrali of Torrington, CT, and Rick Magistrali of Salem, OR.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
