Linda Janet Woodman

June 13, 1941 — April 29, 2026

Goshen, Connecticut

Linda Janet Woodman, the beloved matriarch of the Hageman family, passed away on April 29, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a brief illness. Born on June 13, 1941, Linda was an indomitable member of the Goshen Community. She was born and raised in Goshen and lived in her childhood home her entire life.

Linda was a graduate of Wamogo Regional High School and retired from BD in Canaan, Connecticut after 35 years as a Quality Control Supervisor. She was involved in the Goshen Agricultural Society for decades and was a proud member of the St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church.

Famously, Linda ran a tight ship in everything that she did. You did not argue with her, you did not question her. You simply smiled and asked where she would like the pickles placed at the Canned Good display at the World-Famous Goshen Fair, where she served as the committee chair for as long as Goshen can remember. She would send the nearest family member to get her lunch from the American Legion – a cold Coca-Cola and a hot dog (and it had better be burnt to a crisp).

She and her sister, Patti, were famous for delivering cookies on any occasion – Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Valentine’s Day… her frosted sugar cookies and her almond balls remain a family staple at the holiday table. (There were battles fought for ownership at every family meal.) No matter what the occasion, Linda was there – perhaps not with a smile but always present as the head of the family. There was nothing more important to her in the world than that.

Linda is pre-deceased by her brother, William J. Hageman and his wife Beverly J. Hageman, her sister (and partner in crime) Patricia E. Hageman, and her parents Henry Hageman and Edna McCallum Hageman all of Goshen.

Linda will be deeply missed by her nephews and nieces: John Hageman of Waterbury and his daughter Julia Hageman of Tennessee; Richard Hageman and his wife Debbie Hageman along with their daughters Hannah and Harley and grandchildren Paisley, Serena, Caran, Jr., and Ja’Kari; Lisa Hageman of Torrington; Cindy Donaldson and partner David Coons of Avon, and their children Chelsea Donaldson and husband Adam Cruz of Goshen, and Max Donaldson and wife Kristine Bronson of Goshen, and grandson Rowan Cruz.

While she is survived by countless family members whom she adored, the apples of her eye were her son, Mark Woodman of Goshen, and her granddaughter, Bryana Woodman of Winsted, who will miss her beyond measure.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 71 North St., Goshen CT on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Thomas of Villanova Church (St. Louis de Montfort Parish).  There are no calling hours. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Goshen.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home, Torrington, CT.
