Linda A. Smedick

Linda A. Smedick, a devoted Registered Nurse and beloved member of her community, passed away on July 27, 2025, at the Wolcott Hall Nursing Center surrounded by her family. Born on January 20, 1951, in Torrington, Connecticut, Linda dedicated herself to caring for others throughout her professional career.

Linda spent her working years as a registered nurse, proudly serving the patients at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and Connecticut Junior Republic. Linda loved helping people and loved everyone she knew. She was the kindest person you would ever meet. She loved spending time with her family and friends. If she wasn't walking and hiking with her husband John, they were spending time at the ocean which made her so happy.

She is survived by her loving husband, John Smedick of Torrington, CT; her son, Sean Smedick and his significant other Caleigh McKenna and her son Kellan of Torrington, CT; her daughter, Melyssa White and son-in-law Allyn of Canaan, CT; and her dear sisters, Susan Hynes and her husband John of Kennebunk, ME, and Denise Bierce and her husband Bill of Willington, CT, Lori Ross and her husband Rob of Torrington, CT; her granddaughter Abigail White as well as several nieces and nephews all of whom will miss her dearly.

Linda's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Wolcott Hall for the compassionate care shown to her as well as to her family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Dante and Shirley (Northrup) Longobucco.

Private funeral services have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home.
