Keith Thomas Lawson, 59, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born on June 24, 1966, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late William and Patricia (Keeley) Lawson.
A man of unwavering dedication, Keith was employed by Blast ALL as a bridge painter, a role that underlined his belief in hard work and commitment. He entered the workforce at a young age and spent most of his career perfecting his craft. Known for his strong work ethic, Keith also had a kind and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Keith grew up in the east end of Waterbury, where he attended Saint Peter and Paul School and Crosby High School. His values were deeply rooted in family; he cherished the moments spent with his son Joseph, enjoying activities that brought them joy and bonding experiences. As he looked forward to retirement, Keith found great happiness in relaxing and traveling with his companion, Gia Newell, whose presence added light to his life. The importance of family gatherings during holidays and special occasions was paramount to him, creating lasting memories with loved ones.
He is survived by his loving companion, Gia Newell of Torrington, CT; his son, Joseph Lawson of Torrington, CT; daughters, Amber Nicastro of Middletown, CT, Courtney Nicastro (Ryan) of Watertown, CT, Kelci Myers of Bristol, and Lily Reder of Torrington, CT; a brother, William Lawson of Waterbury, CT; three sisters, Mary Carboni of Plainville, CT, Sharon Schoppenhauer (Pete) of Waterbury, CT, and Tricia Lawson Mailloux (Eric) of Wolcott, CT; and six grandchildren, Elias, Lincoln, Gracelin, Destiny, Jordyn, and Felicity. He is also remembered with love by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maron's Church, 613 Main St., Torrington, CT, for the Divine Liturgy of Resurrection. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Maron's Church. Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Burial will be private.
