Kathleen A. Rindos

Dec 24, 1960 — Oct 27, 2026

Torrington, Connecticut

Kathleen Anne (Waldron) Rindos , affectionately known as Kate, was born on December 24, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry and Mildred (Duffy) Waldron. After a courageous fight with cancer, Kate passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026, surrounded by the family who loved her. Throughout her battle, she showed incredible strength, resilience, and courage. Kate was a warrior until the very end, meeting each day with a determination that reflected the strength of her spirit. Kate graduated from Torrington High School in 1979, where she was involved in the cross-country, track, stage crew, pep club, and humanities. By the time she graduated, she was fluent in German, a testament to her aptitude for languages and her love of learning. She went on to attend Eastern Connecticut State University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in 1983 in just three years.

After college, Kate settled in Bennington, Vermont, where she lived for many years, working at both Williams College as a Librarian for several years and Bennington College. During that time, she continued to pursue her education by working toward her master’s degree and studying French. She was also a talented artist with a creative spirit. A true intellectual with an enduring curiosity about the world, Kate was always eager to learn something new. Her love of knowledge extended far beyond her formal education, and she embraced learning as a lifelong pursuit.

Kate is survived by her nine brothers and sisters: Henry Waldron (Diane Mora), Murray Waldron (Suzanne), Thomas Waldron (Kathy), Mary LeBlanc (Bill Busha), Linda Viski (Joe), John Waldron (Robin), Brian Waldron (Christine), Kevin Waldron, and Gale Caruso. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Although Kate did not have children of her own, she had a natural warmth and kindness with children and shared a special bond with the younger members of her family. She loved them dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, Connecticut, to St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 160 Main St., Torrington, CT, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery, Torrington.
