Julia P. (Vanni) Borghesi, 96, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Litchfield Woods. She was the beloved wife of the late Dino M. Borghesi.
Mrs. Borghesi was born March 20, 1921, in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria (Marraccini) Vanni. She was employed by Oliver Wolcott Technical School as a cook until her retirement. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Peter Church. An avid reader, she had a great sense of humor and was blessed with a multitude of friends. Julia was a creative person in countless ways, as demonstrated by her love for cooking, sewing and crocheting beautiful afghans. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy.
She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Borghesi and one son, Jeffrey Borghesi (Susan) both of Torrington; two grandchildren, Jenny Borghesi Ciarlone (Nick) and Marc Borghesi (Sara); three great grandchildren, Mia and Lilliana Ciarlone, and Dino P. Borghesi, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Private Funeral services have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. There are no calling hours.
