Joseph W. Middleton, II

Joseph W. Middleton, II (Joe) died Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 85, surrounded by family at Midstate Medical Center.

Joe was born in Manchester, NH, in 1939 and was married for 64 years to the love of his life, Diane (Dee) Middleton, who passed away in June 2024.

Joe leaves a son, Joe and Lori Middleton of Torrington, CT, and a daughter, Kim Middleton of East Hartford, CT; granddaughters Allison Middleton of Simsbury, CT, and Paige Middleton of Pinellas Park, FL; a sister, Olive Middleton of South Carolina, and many other loving relatives and friends.

Joe is predeceased by both parents, siblings Edson Middleton, Mary Ellen Bouillot, and David Middleton, and grandson John Michael Ambruso III.

Joe served four years with the United States Air Force (USAF), was a West Hartford Police Officer for six years, and then had a successful career in the Insurance field as a claim’s administrator and manager.

Joe was blessed throughout his life with many wonderful friends. He enjoyed many years boating in the Northeast waters, skiing in Vermont, biking, traveling, and touring around the country.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield Street, Torrington, CT, concluding with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home where final military honors will be accorded. 

Joe would like to be remembered as a good friend, beloved grandfather, and a gentleman to many throughout his life.
