John Joseph Marchetti

August 1, 1947 — February 13, 2024

Harwinton, Connecticut

John Joseph Marchetti passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on February 13, 2024. John was born on August 1, 1947. He was the son of the late Vero and Vera (Silano) Marchetti. He was the devoted husband of Margaret (Kelly) (Laroche) Marchetti for 57 years. They were high school sweethearts.

In addition to his wife, John leaves behind a son, Mark Marchetti, and his daughter Lynn Marie (Marchetti) Marshall and her husband Dwight Marshall along with three grandchildren, Sara (Marshall) Emory, Jonathan Marshall and Nathan Marshall and a great grandson, James Marshall Emory. He also leaves behind a brother, Michael Marchetti, and a sister, Janet Coleman, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved black lab and companion, Owen. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Jeffrey Marchetti, and every day he said, “I miss my brother.”

He was employed by Patterson Oil until the time of his retirement in 2015. He enjoyed skeet shooting and chatting with his friends as they solved all the problems of the world. His greatest joy was spending time with his three grandchildren and being blessed with a great grandchild.

The family would like to thank the Torrington Davita Dialysis Center for their compassion and kindness shown to John during his kidney dialysis treatments for the last three years. We also would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to the Hartford Healthcare Hospice nurses for the excellent care the staff rendered to John and support to his family.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davita Dialysis, 780 Litchfield St., Suite 100, Torrington, CT 06790
