Jennie G. Hickson

Jennie G. Hickson, born on May 15, 1928, in Torrington, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, in Sebastian, Florida. A devoted member of her community and a lifelong resident of Torrington until she relocated to Florida three years ago to stay with her nephew, William Gerardi, and his wife, Darlene.

Jennie dedicated an impressive 67 years of her life working in the Accounting Department at Dwan & Company. Her commitment to her career was evident in her work ethic and the care she brought to her profession.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Jennie's passion for music was a defining aspect of her life. She sang with the St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Thomas of Villanova, and the locally renowned Silver Bells and Beaux Choirs. Her love for singing not only enriched her own life but also brought joy to those around her.

Jennie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, John J. Hickson, and her parents, Leonard and Angelina (Gerardo) Gerardi., and her siblings Daniel, John, and William Gerardi, as well as her sister, Louise McCarthy.

Jennie's legacy continues through her sister-in-law Joanne Gerardi, several nieces and nephews and the many dear friends she made throughout her life—each of whom cherished her kindness and warmth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 6, 2025, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Thomas of Villanova Church in Goshen, Connecticut, at 11:00 AM. Following the service, Jennie will be laid to rest at St. Francis New Cemetery in Torrington, Connecticut. The family will receive visitors for a time of remembrance on August 5, 2025, at Cook Funeral Home in Torrington, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
