Helen L. Torsiello

Helen L. (Vernali) Torsiello, 98, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away on September 27, 2026, at Valerie Manor.  She was the wife of the late Alfred Torsiello.

Helen was born October 7, 1927, in Norfolk, CT, the daughter of the late Concetto and Santa (Randazzo) Vernali.  A devoted homemaker, she took immense joy in caring for her husband and their children.

Helen is survived by two sons, Michael Torsiello (Cathy) of Torrington, CT, Robert Torsiello (Kris) of Jupiter, FL; two daughters, Linda Asklar (Jerry) of Harwinton, CT, Deborah Hagibes (John) of Lake Worth, FL; a son-in-law Greg Troughton; one sister, Rose Kupcho of Southington, CT; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Troughton and three sisters, Concetta Kincaid, Vivian Michna and Lillian Fredsall.

Helen's family would like to thank the staff at Valerie Manor / HavenCare for the kindness shown to Helen and her family.  They would also like to express their gratitude to her special friend, Evelyn Low.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (Our Lady of Hope Parish), 78 Litchfield Rd., Harwinton, CT 06791 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
