Glenn A. Hornfischer, 86, of Torrington, CT, a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, at Bridgeport Hospital. Born on February 28, 1940, in Torrington, Connecticut, Glenn lived a life marked by dedication, both to his country and to those he loved most.

Glenn honorably served as a medic in the US Army, stationed in Germany, where he demonstrated the compassion and strength that would define his character throughout his life. Following his military service, he was faithfully employed by Fitzgerald's, Torin Corp, and ultimately retiring from Seitz. His commitment to his work was as steadfast as his commitment to his family.

Above all, Glenn cherished his role as a family man. Known for his jovial spirit and love of good humor, he found his greatest joy in spending time with those closest to him. His warm laughter and playful nature brought comfort and happiness to many around him. Glenn’s deepest love was reserved for his wife Jane (Ratcliffe) Hornfischer, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. She was truly the love of his life, and her memory remained central to his heart.

Glenn is survived by his beloved son, Lee Hornfischer of Burlington, CT; his devoted daughter, Kim Kelly of Torrington, CT, along with her husband Patrick Kelly and their daughter, Jade Kelly and her fiancé Joey Hockenbury. He also leaves behind his niece, Nancy Begey, and many cousins who hold him dear.

He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Jane; his parents, Arthur and Gertrude (Jasch) Hornfischer; his sister, Marlene Parker; and his niece, Debbie Melaragno.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, with calling hours from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield Street, Torrington, Connecticut. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery with military honors accorded.
