Gioconda (Giglio) Colao, 81, of Torrington, CT, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Litchfield Woods. She was the beloved wife of the late Mario Colao.
Gioconda was born July 16, 1935, in Sorbo San Basile, Italy, daughter of the late Giacomo and Teresa (Mirabelli) Giglio. She is survived by two sons, Vincenzo Colao (Caterina) of Torrington, CT, Giacomo Colao of Chicago, IL as well as four grandchildren, Vittoria, Mario, Cristina and Gabriella. She was predeceased by one son, Giuseppi Colao; four brothers, Vincenzo, Giacomo, Antonio, and Aurelio Giglio and three sisters, Rosa, Maria, and Lidia Giglio.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday morning, May 23rd from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
