Edna Mae (Davidson) Herzig

Edna Mae Davidson McCoy Herzig, 87, of East Granby, CT, peacefully passed away December 9, 2016, at Meadow Brook of Granby.  She was the beloved wife of the late Stanton Herzig whom she wed on August 26, 1949.

Edna was born August 4, 1929, in Waterville, ME, daughter of the late Gaston and Thelma (Barnes) Davidson and the late Dr. Thomas McCoy. She obtained a Business Degree from Thomas Business College after graduating from Waterville High School in 1947. She loved her church and served in many capacities over the years.

Edna is survived by three sons, Frederick Herzig (Cheryl ) of Torrington, CT, Keith Herzig (Shari) of Columbia, CT, and Allan Herzig (Laurie) of Ellensburg, WA, and 4 grandchildren, Garrett Herzig of Jamaica Plain, MA, Aralinde Herzig of Colebrook, CT, Teresa Fuller of Spokane, WA, and Michael Clark of Colfax, WA. She is survived by one sister, Pauline Grenier of Albion, ME and one sister-in-law Lois Charron (Robert) of Glastonbury, CT and several nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by one brother, John McCoy and brother in law, Reginald Grenier.

Funeral  services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at East Granby Congregational Church, 9 Rainbow Road, East Granby, CT. Burial will follow at East Granby Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to East Granby Congregational Church in lieu of flowers.
