With profound love and deep sorrow, the family of Dolores L. Sainz announces her peaceful passing on September 13th, 2026, at 69 years of age. She was surrounded by her loving family as she was welcomed back to her home in heaven. We celebrate her life and mourn the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother, loving wife, and friend.

Dolores—known affectionately to those who loved her as Dolly, Babydoll, Nanna, or Mom—was born on August 15th, 1957, to Joyce Vivian Crocker in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was raised in Poughquag, NY, alongside her siblings, Calvin (Rummy) Eastwood and Charles (Chuck) Crocker, who both preceded her in death.

For 42 years, Dolly was the beloved wife and faithful partner of John Sainz (62). Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support, facing life’s milestones side by side. They surpassed every obstacle in their way, showcasing a profound resilience through the enduring power of their love.

Dolly was a vibrant, free-spirited person whose trademark Irish stubbornness showed exactly when it was warranted. A woman of many passions, she displayed them proudly. She found great joy in thrifting and finding treasures at tag sales, was an avid bingo enthusiast, and took meticulous care of her animals. However, her greatest legacy remains the love she poured into her home and family. She will be forever remembered for her infectious laugh, her famously questionable taste in paint colors, her habit of cleaning a house that was already spotless, and the profound impact she made on everyone—and every animal—fortunate enough to know her.

Family was the absolute center of her heart. She showed her love in the quiet moments, often coming home with small knick-knacks or treats for family members she was reminded of during her travels. She is survived by her devoted husband, John; her beloved children, Jeff Crocker (52) and Tara Hollywood (51); and her cherished grandchildren, Anthony Wood (26), Jeffrey Crocker (26), Daniella Wood (25), and Zander Crocker (23).

Dolly's animals were her world, sometimes even rivaling her human family members for top priority. Any animal that had the pleasure of living near Dolly was fed and looked after as one of her own. The pets who lived within her home were truly her extended children: her emotional support dog, AJ, who was always attached to her hip; her cat, MJ, who loved to go nose-to-nose with her in the morning; and her beloved Jesse, who is now joyfully running around with Dolly once again.

Her family will proudly continue her wonderful legacy by feeding the ten-plus wild ducks that now reside on the property, caring for the countless birds that depend on her daily birdseed, and opening their hearts to any animal in need of love, just as Dolly did.

Dolly was a faithful wife, a loving mother and grandmother, a caring friend, and a truly wonderful woman. While a vast emptiness has been left in her wake, her community of family and friends will honor her memory by carrying forward her hobbies, her passions, and her boundless capacity for kindness. She will be missed beyond measure.
