Dennis Martin DeFranceschi, 71, formerly of 147 Central Avenue Torrington, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, in the presence of his devoted care giving sister. Dennis was born on November 4, 1948, in Torrington, the son of the late Alfred and Edith (Mazzei) DeFranceschi, Sr. He was a graduate of Torrington High School in 1966 and enlisted in the Navy thereafter.
He was stationed in Japan while in the Navy and he moved to San Diego, CA following his service. He worked as an optician at Mercy Hospital. Dennis was a very kind person with a generous heart. He would give you the shirt off his back. He enjoyed his Kawasaki motorcycle in his younger years and he loved Corvettes. He was always joking around and quick with a one liner. He enjoyed watching his New England Patriots and going out to eat. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his sister Claudia and her husband Jack Guisti, brothers Alfred and his wife Patricia, Ronald and his wife Maryjane and two nieces and one nephew.
Claudia would like to thank the staff at Valerie Manor and these very special people - Tom W., Sharri Y., Sandy W. and Senet D. I will never forget all you did for Dennis. Also, she would like to thank the Therapy Dept. and a very special CNA Sandy S.
