Debra (Parker) Melaragno, 60, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away, Monday, December 31, 2018, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Alduino “Al” Melaragno for 38 years.
Debra was born October 25, 1958, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of Gary and Marlene (Hornfischer) Parker of Harwinton. She was employed as an Administrative Assistance for the State Independent Living Council. She also worked as a Camp Counselor at Maria Pratt for 4 years. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, tending to her flower gardens, and was an active supporter of Torrington Youth Soccer programs.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she is survived by three sons, Michael of Torrington, Andrew and his wife Brittaney of Farmington, Nicholas of Torrington; one sister, Nancy Begey and her husband Gary of Torrington, brothers-in-law, Mario Melaragno and his wife Antoinette, Eduardo Melaragno and his wife Patricia, sister-in-law Luisa Melaragno and her husband Natale, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church (St. John the Great Parish), 107 East Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
