Cynthia D. (Mason) Mahoney

Cynthia D. (Mason) Mahoney, 76, of Harwinton, CT, peacefully passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017, at St. Mary Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Mahoney.

Cynthia was born March 7, 1941, in Bristol, CT, daughter of the late David and Eva (Christian) Mason.  She led a full and active life, crocheting, reading, shopping, bird watching and most of all spending time with her dog, Koda Blu and her grandchildren.  Cynthia was a member of the Harwinton Congregational Church as well as serving as secretary for the church for many years.  She also sang with the Harwintones as well as being involved with the Harwinton Senior Center and Historical Society.

Cynthia is survived by two sons, Thomas Mahoney (Kristy) of Torrington and Terrence Mahoney (Donna) of Torrington; one daughter, Traci Sweeney (Patrick) of Harwinton; one daughter in law, Linda Mahoney of Cheshire; one sister, Ruth Caddick of Farmington; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Timothy Mahoney; one brother, David Mason and one sister, Barbara Schmelder.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Harwinton Congregational Church, 1 Litchfield Rd., Harwinton, with a reception following in the Lower Fellowship Hall.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.
