Christine (Urbanski) Vail

Christine Vail, age 61, passed away peacefully at her home in Torrington, CT on April 6, 2014.

Born in Newport, Rhode Island to Henry Urbanski and Barbara Mercurio, C hristine lived in many different places, including Connecticut and Florida. She worked for 25 years at the St. Petersburg Times before retiring and moving to Torrington, where she lovingly cared for her pets and enjoyed spending time with her friends.  Christine is survived by her sister, Deborah Sparenberg, of Pinellas Park, FL; her brother, Karl Urbanski, of San Antonio, TX; her son, Richard Brian Vail Jr. of Doylestown, PA and his wife Adriane; her daughter, Kimberly Vail Cooper, of Green Bay, WI and her husband Michael; her cherished grandchildren Alexa, Brent, Madison and Hudson; and her dear friends Jeff Bickel, Margaret Barwikowski, and Karin McGrath.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Gilliam.

Christine will be especially remembered for her quick wit, her kind spirit, and her love of her family and friends. Her hobbies included cooking and crocheting. Services will be private.
