Carol Lee (Douglas) Cianciolo, 91, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, June 12, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life of 55 years, Fabian “Bunny” Cianciolo, in 2011.
Carol was born October 21, 1934, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Anna (L’Abbe) Douglas. She was a lifelong Torrington resident and attended St. Francis School and was a 1952 graduate of Torrington High School. She was employed as a bookkeeper by the former Pump Sales and Service, as well as Carl’s Carpet & True Value Hardware until her retirement. She later was employed in the Torringford School Cafeteria for many years.
She is survived by five children and nine grandchildren. Two sons: Neal Cianciolo (Marie) and David Cianciolo (Diane) and daughter Gabrielle. Three daughters: Cathy Brusseau (Paul) and daughters, Michelle and Leslie; Donna LaChance and daughters, Rebecca, Katie, Jaimie and son, Daniel; Elena Barkasy (Mark) and sons Dylan and Sean; six great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two granddaughters, Karla Brusseau and Paige Cianciolo and her brother Kenneth.
Her favorite activities were times spent with family and friends, baking, reading and UCONN Football and Men’s and Women’s Basketball.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St., Torrington, CT. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call at St. Paul’s Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
