Pauline J. (Therrien) Maraia, 77, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away at St. Vincent Hospital on October 17, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Anthony Maraia for 55 years.
Pauline was born December 3, 1945, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Paul and Edith (Shultz) Therrien. She was employed by E. G. I. as a Printing Press Operator until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Francis Church Mother’s Club, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and completing jigsaw puzzles.
In addition to her husband Tony, she is survived by a son, David Maraia and his wife Thu of New Hartford, CT; a daughter Darleen Holmes and her husband Bernard Holmes, Sr. of Torrington, CT; one sister, Lorraine Notte of New Smyrna, FL; three grandchildren, Aiden Maraia, Dawson Maraia, Bernard Holmes, Jr.; one great grandson, Theodore Holmes, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, with the cortege leaving at 9:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT to St. Francis of Assisi Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 160 Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT.
